CUNY Women In Science, Engineering and Math Constitution

MISSION: CUNY Women in Science, Engineering and Math is an interdisciplinary organization at the CUNY Graduate Center that invites students and faculty to share information and ideas relevant to women in these fields. Our primary purpose is to create a network of mutually supportive individuals at CUNY who are interested in the professional development and career advancement of women in the sciences, engineering, math and related fields.
EVENTS: Since many of these departments are based at campuses other than The Graduate Center, the listserv will be the primary site for discussion, planning and business. The frequency and type of events will be determined by the interests of the members and therefore may change from year to year.
MEMBERS: Participation is open to all Graduate Center students and faculty as well as students and faculty from other CUNY institutions, and guests brought by any of the aforementioned. We maintain a listserv that is open to Graduate Center students and faculty as well.
GOVERNANCE: Two co-chairs chosen by voluntary nominations and anonymous voting by members that are matriculated students of The Graduate Center. The co-chairs are responsible for event organization, maintenance of the list-serve, and matters of funding and administration.
