Rob Faunce of the English Program currently serves as Co-Chair for Communications of the Doctoral Students' Council. To view Rob's office hours click here.

As Co-Chair for Communications, Rob's responsibilities are to:

  • interface with administration, faculty, and staff;
  • act as official spokesperson of the DSC;
  • report to the Council on the activities of all committees of the Doctoral and Graduate Students' Organization and relevant activities of the Board of Higher Education (B.H.E.), Graduate Council, Council of E.O.'s, President's Cabinet and University Student Senate (U.S.S.);
  • serve as a voting member of the Graduate Council;
  • act as default Chair at DSC meetings in the absence of the Officer in Charge of Student Affairs if, prior to the meeting, the Steering Committee has not appointed a Steering Committee member to Chair the meeting.
  • maintain all correspondence. including all mailings concerning the DSO, and any non-financial records of the DSO, including all reports of the various committees of the DSO. These records are to be kept up to date at all times and available for presentation within 48 hours to the Council and/or Steering Committee when requested;
  • record and keep the minutes of the DSC and/or the Steering Committee meetings if the Steering Committee does not select a Steering Committee member to do so for any meeting.

Bio

Rob Faunce is a 4th year PhD student in English, with emphases on queer studies, 20th century world literature, and intersectional theses. As a second year Steering Committee member and this year's Co-Chair for Communications, he is eager to keep lines of communication open with the GC community—so please feel free to contact him directly at robfaunce@gmail.com or the DSC Steering Committee whenever a question, comment, or concern strikes.
