Gregory Donovan of the Environmental Psychology Program currently serves as Co-Chair for Student Affairs of the Doctoral Students' Council. To view Gregory's office hours click here.
As Co-Chair for Student Affairs, Gregory's responsibilities are to:
- act as liaison between the DSC and chartered organizations, and to act in a supervisory capacity vis a vis these organizations to ensure that they are aware of and do not violate any of the relevant DSC by-laws;
- oversee cultural affairs so as to ensure that all such activities conform to the relevant DSC by-laws;
- act as official liaison between the DSC Newspaper and the DSC;
- prepare for and convene DSC meetings including the monthly meetings of the DSC and any special meetings that he or she deems necessary;
- prepare agendas for all meetings of the DSC and the Steering Committee;
- act as default Chair at DSC meetings if the Steering Committee, prior to the meeting, does not appoint a Steering Committee member to Chair the meeting;
- serve as a non-voting member, ex-officio, of all other committees of the DSC.
Bio
Gregory Donovan is a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Psychology and a Certificate candidate in Interactive Technology & Pedagogy at the CUNY Graduate Center. He is a fellow at The Center for Place, Culture and Politics and an Instructional Technology Fellow for the Macaulay Honors College. Gregory received his M.A. from Hunter College in psychology and his B.A. from Marymount Manhattan College in psychology with a minor and professional certification in industrial/organizational psychology. Raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts and presently located in New York City, his writing and research interests explore how cyberspace(s) re-negotiate the processes of identity development, education, and citizen participation within urban environments. Professionally, Gregory is part-time faculty at Marymount Manhattan College, conducts research for several children’s educational media groups and builds cyberspaces.
