Student Lounges and Reservations
From cunydsc.org
All students may use the two DSC lounges on the 5th floor. These lounges are for the exclusive use of students. Click here for the room reservation form. Before submitting your room reservation request please consult the Room Reservation Calendar to make sure the room is still available.
- The Social Lounge (Room 5414) provides a relaxed environment where students can interact on a social basis.
- The Working Lounge is more suitable for holding formal meetings or for studying and interacting on work projects.
- Lockers for short-term storage are also available in this study. Currently, lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Both Lounges are connected by a pantry equipped with a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and a sink.
We want to encourage students to utilize these spaces. These are YOUR spaces. You can come at any time; the doors remain unlocked for you. Later this semester we aim to offer movie nights and other events to bring students to attract students to the Lounges, so we can all appreciate and enjoy our valuable common space.
Room Reservations: The following rooms are under the Doctoral Students's Students Council's direct administration:
- Room 5414 (The Robert Gilleece Students' Social Lounge)
- Room 5409 (The Robert Gilleece Doctoral Students' Study Room)
- Room 5489 (Conference Room)
These rooms are for the exclusive use of students and the Chartered Organizations, and are intended to provide a space where activities organized by students for students can take place. In order to reserve a DSC room, students should go to the main DSC office (Room 5495) and fill out one of the forms available for this purpose. Click here for a copy of this form. Room reservations forms can be left in the Doctoral Students' Council office or slipped under the door.
Currently, many chartered organizations hold free and open-to-the-public events in both these lounges (see calendar for events).
