Meeting commenced at 4:30 PM

I. Approval of Agenda

Motion to approve - Nancy Medina (NM), 2nd Saliha Aite (SA), approved by unanimous consent.

II. Approval of Old Minutes

1. September 2007: Motion to approve - Nancy Medina (NM), 2nd Saliha Aite (SA), approved
by unanimous consent.

2. Spring 2007

a. March 23, 2007: Motion to ratify - NM, 2nd SA, approved by unanimous consent.

b. April 27, 2007: Motion to ratify - NM, 2nd SA, approved by unanimous consent.

III. Old Business

1. Wellness Center: DT said she spoke to Sharon Lerner and was told that the process was
going forward and substantial advance had been made in procuring an interim Nurse
practitioner. DT said there were no health services yet but that Brenda Vollman spoke
with Student Affairs and they agreed to reimburse students for medical expenses. The
reimbursement will be $50.00/event. This includes primary care only - medical visits and
prescription drug coverage. Dental and eye care are not included.

2. DSC Tabling: Scheduling for holding information sessions (table in GC lobby) starting
Monday, October 15 - Friday, October 19, 2007 was discussed.
a. DT agreed to man the table Monday, October 15th from 1 - 4PM
b. SA Tuesday, October 16th from 8:30 AM - 12:00 Noon
c. NM Wednesday, October 17th from 8:30 AM - 12 Noon
d. DT and NM tentatively scheduled Alissa Ackerman (AA) for Thursday, October
18th from 10:30 - 11:30 AM during her office hours.

e. NM suggested that perhaps the movie SICKO could be shown Friday, October
19th in the conference room before Plenary/party. DT said she would bring this
up at the Steering Committee Meeting.

3. Workshops: Maurer Foundation needs volunteers for Breast exams during their breast
health education program Monday, October 15, 2007 at the GC room C202, from 12:00
noon to 2:00 PM. DT issued a flyer to all present.

4. Advocate article: DT said a combined article for our Finances, International/Out of State
Student Issues, and HIC was planned. After speaking with James Hoff DT thinks it's
better to have separate articles on each. NM agreed that it would make the issues stand
out more.

IV. New Business

1. World AIDS DAY: DT spoke to the Department of Health (DOH) and would like them
to visit GC. Question of doing AIDS testing using the Oraquick (gives results in 20
minutes). DT said Student Affairs is not keen on the idea. DT will bring issue up at the
Steering Committee Meeting.

a. DT and NM discussed possibility of having students from Social Welfare,
Sociology, Biology, and other disciplines showcase their work on HIV/AIDS at a
seminar/poster presentation at the GC.

V. Announcements

1. Reception for Dr. Rosin: DT will forward information regarding DOH reception for Dr.
Rosen, M.D. who is now in charge of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
2. Spitzer's "Partnership for Coverage": DT gave handout re: Spitzer's partnership for
coverage.
3. Other health related events in NYC: DT gave a Calendar of Events handout.
