Bio

A student in Anthropoology, melissa zavala's research interests include Human ecology, urban land reclamation, parks and sanitation. Her research topic focuses on urban sustainability, particularly in the field of brownfield remediation with the rehabilitation of Fresh Kills Landfill into a Park and Nature Reserve here in NYC. She is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY, in the Social Sciences Department teaching Anthropology.
